Life Skills Learned Through Aikido

A Healthy Way of Life

Aikido is a martial art that teaches you to defend yourself against an opponent of any size and strength through the use of smooth, fluid, circular movements.

Wellness

Training involves the whole body moving in natural ways, developing greater strength, flexibility, coordination and cardiovascular fitness.

Aikido for Everyone

Aikido can empower anyone who feels vulnerable. We specifically teach people how to be more aware and protect themselves in real life situations.

Physical Connections

Train with others and create connections with like minded, but unique individuals who endeavor to lift each other up while you learn from one another.

Weapons Training

Many Aikido movements are derived from classical weapons arts and training with them leads to a better understanding of body movements, angles and technique.

Conflict Resolution

Aikido has become known in personal development and business circles as a highly useful conflict resolution strategy.

"I have been going to Aikido of Scottsdale for some years and I highly recommend it. Sensei Brooks has a deep understanding of Aikido and a talent for instruction. He promotes a serious study of the art while at the same time keeping the classes fun and enjoyable. The students are friendly, welcoming, and fun to work with. My daughter also attended the children's classes and those are great, too. "

If you looking for a great dojo to practice a serious martial art… Aikido of Scottsdale is the place for you. Led by Chief Instructor Glenn Brooks Sensei, the dojo is a warm family that is supportive and dedicated to ensuring that all will learn this beautiful martial art. The dojo is bright, clean and inviting. The students are friendly and welcoming. Sensei is an amazing practitioner of Aikido. The longer I train with Brooks Sensei, the more amazed I am at his level of mastery. I would highly recommend checking out Aikido of Scottsdale.

A very welcoming community. I joined a year ago and have been coming since. If you are new to Aikido, you can find here a group of Aikidoka that are open to teaching you. If you are advanced, you will find many black belts to train with. The chief instructor, Brooks Sensei, is a great, devoted teacher who truly cares about his students. Also, the dojo is large and it has AC!

"I just started training here at this dojo and am very happy that I did. Very welcoming staff and students. I didn't know anything about aikido and now I'm learning more and more each time that I come and am very excited to continue my new journey in this art."

"Aikido of Scottsdale is a great place for both kids and adults to train and learn Aikido. Sensei Glenn Brooks is a 6th Degree Black Belt and has a passion for sharing his knowledge of Aikido with all the students in the dojo. The fellow students that make up the dojo are friendly and great people to train with, no matter what your rank or Aikido knowledge. "

"You would be hard-pressed to find a better group of people, dojo, Sensei, or martial art to study. Becoming a student at Aikido of Scottsdale is one of the best decisions I have ever made and one I am happy to share with my son who is also a student. "
